British Science Week – March 5 – 14

British Science Week: This March, ten days are dedicated to the celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) through various events throughout the UK. Everyone is encouraged to organise a science-themed event that will get people to engage with STEM.

Covering Science

In 2019 and 2020 we have seen the Amazon and Australia burn, among other climate disasters. It is becoming clearer and clearer that, in the future, there will be a greater need for people with STEM skills. During British Science Week, everyone is invited to engage with topics covered by science, engineering, technology, and maths. An ongoing theme for some of the events this year is “our diverse planet” and people are invited to explore how STEM grapples with sustainability.

Teachers, students, researchers, STEM professionals or simply people with a passion for STEM are all welcome to start an event in their communities. This can be something as fun as teaching people how to make home-made sustainable bath bombs or makeup or could be a talk given by a professor on the topic of sustainability.

Check out what events are taking place through ScienceLive, a platform that allows participants, organisers, speakers or volunteers to connect with each other.
