Walkie Talkie Tower Climb – February 29th

The Walkie Tower Climb: Every day 619 children and young people arrive at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) to be treated for severe illnesses and conditions. The hospital is exclusively for children and relies on NHS funds and charitable support to deliver the care its many patients need. Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity is organising the Walkie Talkie Tower climb on Saturday 29, until 2 pm. Take up the challenge of running up 896 steps spread over 36 floors, then enjoy a splendid view and a drink at the top of the tower.

The Great Ormond Street Hospital

Many literary figures have left their mark upon the hospital’s history. Charles Dickens was one of the first fundraisers for the hospital. Roald Dahl was heavily involved in the development of heart valves and shunt valves (cerebral valves) for children suffering from heart and brain diseases. J.M. Barrie is perhaps the most famous example. He offered the copyrights to the Peter Pan works to the hospital, allowing the institution to profit from the films, performances and books that have been published after his death. Join the ranks of these prolific writers and fundraise for GOSH.

Instead of The Walkie Talkie Tower Climb

If running up the Walkie Talkie Tower is not your cup of tea or is physically not possible for you there are other ways of fundraising. Running a marathon or half marathon, hiking, cycling, baking are just some of the possibilities. Getting creative and just planning your own fundraiser is another option. Whatever you choose to do, the GOSH charity offers plenty of support through special made fundraising packs that you receive once you sign up for an event.
